Artist Statement: "This quilt was inspired by my continued passion for mosaic design and was influenced by my interest in various forms of ancient & modern tile art. The non-figurative quilt design originated after studying various forms of Zellige and Azulejo (Islamic/Arabic, Portuguese and Mexican) tilework. Further, it incorporates my love of symmetry, balance, detail and saturated colors. The original technique starts with hand drawn mosaic design which is then traced and cut with a digital cutter. Cotton fabrics, fusible applique, free motion machine quilted."
