Asian Blend II: Lessons Learned - I was interested in learning this block and learned that it was based on a japanese design element, which got me thinking about Sashiko quilting and the traditional blues that we usually see. So from there the quilt evolved outwords, it became circular and took on the look of a Chinese coin, but I was also desirous of work with thread painting, so I included a crane in the middle for added interest. I learned a lot of lessons while making this quilt!
