A quilt based in a trip to the Okavango Delta. The alpha male lion
This was inspired by a safari in the Okavango Delta in Botswana. It is based on a photo I took there. I chose non realistic colors and focused on light and shadow. It is raw edged appliqué using commercial fabric and poly and rayon thread. The quilting was done on my home stationary machine. I tried to quilt Acacia trees and grasses but kept the quilting subtle so as to let the lion shine. He is the Alpha of the Delta and I luv him
