A Year in Hand

A Year in Hand

"A Year in Hand" by Margaret Brockbank, and quilted by Maika Christensen, won Second Place-Large Quilts - 1st Entry in an AQS Paducah Quilt Contest at AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah 2026.

Artist Statement: "I have always enjoyed any type of handwork. I had previously done English Paper Piecing but never on this large of a scale. All piecing was hand-sewn with some of the borders attached by machine. I chose to use a contemporary palette. It took a year to complete and approximately 2000 hours. My daughter, Maika, used her skills as a machine quilter to finish this enjoyable project."
