I had had a colorful swirl in my mind for a long time
This quilt was made for my eldest niece and had to be black... I wanted to do something different and really enjoyed making loads and loads of circles which were sewn onto the background during or as part of the quilting process. im not very happy with the petering out bit. It was planned, but did not work out as I had wanted, mainly because I ran out of time and finished that part by filling in circles by hand while I was travelling en route to it being delivered (I live in Switzerland and it was finished on a shortish vacation in Canada over the Christmas holidays, when it was being gifted),when on the bed, it looks fabulous because this part gets draped down the sides. another time, I would hold back from gifting - but at that time I did not want to ship it by post if I was there...
