An exploration into abstraction from my previous life as a painter.
My fine arts background as a painter and printmaker certainly has helped my exploration into abstraction within my quilting journey. I started quilting 30 years ago, using this as a relaxing pastime between my painting exhibitions....,these quilts were more traditional in nature, however, I was always keen to extend my compositions and layouts into a more improv genre. This piece is part of a series, created for my first textile solo show. The screenprinting on these quilts was created by me...I have my own setup where I can burn images onto screens, to be used over and over again!
