A lap quilt depicting what my granddaughter loves about living on the west coast.
My granddaughter collected pictures of things she likes with blues in most of them, but no quilts. She wanted a lap size and told me to surprise her. I drew the scene, decided to put her in it, and found myself praying over every decision. All fabrics were in my stash except the ombre used in the sky and lower water. It was looking like a painting but threadplay would make it too stiff so the quilting adds movement to the scene without doing that. I've done landscapes before, but this one taught me the most!
