Becky Weiland's quilt, A Mandala Quartet, which was featured at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2024 in the Small Wall Quilts: Stationary Machine Quilted category, takes inspiration for its design from two different books, Mystical Mandala Coloring Book by Alberta Hutchinson and Color My Calm: 100 Coloring Templates for Meditation and Relaxation by Angela Porter and Lacy Mucklow. The quilt is an interpretation of a Mandala quilt. A Mandala is a spiritual symbol in Hindu and Buddhist representing the universe. The literal translation of a Mandala means circle. So the "Quartet" of the title comes from the four different and dazzling circular designs that Becky creating using, amongst other techniques, fusible appliqué, hand appliqué, and reverse appliqué.
