Artist Statement: "Kado-Matu or "Gate-Pine" is a flower arrangement wishing happiness and blessing for the coming New Year. It can be 1 to 10 feet high and is placed at the gate of homes in Japan for the New Year holidays. It can be compared to Christmas trees in the Christian world."
