2020 Temperature Quilt, Denver, CO

"2020 Temperature Quilt, Denver, CO" by Sarah Schreiner was part of the Temperature Quilt exhibit at Quiltcon 2022.

Artist Statement: "As a scientist and a quilter, I could not pass up the idea of representing data on a quilt. Also, coming from a high desert climate, i knew the large difference in the highs and lows of each day could make for a really fun quilt. I decided on a radial design to represent the cyclical nature of the weather. In this quilt, every colored wedge represents a month for 2020 and each strip is the high and low tempeartures each day. The binding has the color gradient I used, starting tihe <5 degrees Fahrenheit for the coldest (purples) and > 100 degrees for the hottest (pinks) with 5 degree increments."
