After his first try at making a \"feather\", he stood back and decided that it looked more like a tree. So he leaned into the tree idea and created three different tree styles that he could mix and match throughout the quilt. In his words, they're not perfect because trees aren't perfect. Well, we had a house, but we always had some sort of forest to play in. And back then, if we weren't watching the three channels on TV, we played outdoors. A lot. I also drew and colored for much of my childhood! I loved my 64-count box of Crayolas.
