I finally finished it in my lovely new sewing room which looks out to pohutukawa and kowhai trees, and flaxes, where the tui sings.  The pohutukawa is New Zealand's Christmas tree.  Inspired by \"Polaroid\" by Siobhan Rogers, \"By the Block\" book - I re-designed the block, adding the spikes.  Paper-foundation piecing is my favourite technique. \r\nMaterials used: Top made entirely from Kiwiana fabrics, 80\/20 batting, cotton backing. Guterrmann Sulky Rayon thread used for quilting on cream, variegated threads on Kiwiana fabrics. \r\n\r\nTechniques used:  Paper-foundation piecing by machine, machine applique, machine quilting by walking foot only (no free motion quilting).
