I made it to show him MY support of our troops in Iraq. It is adapted from the Civil War when ladies of the house made a quilt for their husband, brother, father, fiancee or friend that was going off to war. It was a reminder for the soldier of his family waiting at home for him. I had Garry's family and friends sign his quilt so he can take it with him to help keep his family close, give him a pillow to lay his head upon and perhaps wear it under his shirt to help keep him safe. The size is approximately 24 X 17 inches so it is not an inconvenience to take with him.
