The theme of the challenge was doors, and Jerry's photographer friend Ryan took a photo of an abandoned church in Canada over twenty-five years ago which he loved the texture of and decided to use as the inspiration for this quilt. Measuring 50\" x 60\", and machine quilted and hand-embroidered, the piece was Jerry's first foray into using unusual fabrics and materials. Probably the most unusual is at the top of the window, which uses sheet vinyl and theatrical gels, which are thin plastic sheeting used in the theater to give lighting its color.
