Cyndi asked Donna if there was anything from the area that she wanted done as a quilt that hadn't been claimed, and Donna told her that the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum had not be done yet. This was serendipitous for Cyndi, as one of her early commissions was for the widow of the Deputy Director of the Hirshhorn Museum, Stephen E. \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eWeil. The widow provided Cyndi with over 140 of his daily bow ties for that commission, and she used the leftover ones for her quilt of the Hirshhorn Museum, featuring them in the windows.
