A very special birthday, so I thought that deserved a very special present! About 15 years ago he became very ill and was taken too the hospital! I made him a litlle tree from beads! When he told me a few months ago he still had that tree after all these years, I was so deeply touched, I just couldn't believe it!\r\nThat's when I decided to make him a quilt, a life in pictures!\r\nIt wasn't very easy to get a hold of the pictures and keeping it a secret from him, but in the end I got there!\r\nSeeing it was my first quilt and I had only two months to finish it I thought I wouldn't make it to big and do only the front side with pictures of him and make the back of the quilt very simple with only one or two fabrics! As I got swept away by this project, it actually almost took over my life, I got this great idea of doing something special with the backside aswell!!!\r\nSeeing he is a big fan of our kings and queens I decided to get the whole Belgium history on the back of the quilt!!!
