Road to California 2026 Artist Statement: "This quilt was foundation pieced on a 1947 Singer Featherweight and then quilted in the ditch on a BERNINA. Fabrics include silks, velvets, commercial cottons, rayon, linen, synthetics, and fabric hand dyed with madder root, marigold, and weld. There are 27,440 individual pieces of fabric in this quilt."
