So I slightly adapted it to make a 12\" miniature.  It's all silk apart from the cotton backing.  I quilted the backing first and then each turned applique piece as I applied it.  I found this caused some shadows as the pieces layered up. I used all batik fabrics and to make the center I cut a square of freezer paper, folded it corner to corner twice and cut a giant snowflake to get the center design. I then fused it with fusible web and satin stitched all around. I added the simple stars all around, and this time all the points are perfect!
